Interview with Andrea Johnson of Lovesick Corrective Apparel
Quick addition to my last post about Lovesick Corrective Apparel — there’s a terrific interview with Andrea Johnson from July of 2008 in which she details many of her motivations and thoughts about corsetry. It’s a great read and there are some nice photos of her work, as well.
Crawling to the finish line…
I never finished the series of photos that I started posting earlier in the summer (here was where we left off). Since it’s been so, so long since I initially started the series, I don’t think I’ll finish it in the way that I had intended. But, here’s one of the shots that I was going to post. This is a Wasp Creations corset, not quite closed at the time, I think.
Gabriel Moginot in a tightly-laced corset
These images were flagged by Gabriel himself in a comment earlier this summer. The pictures are so wonderful, though, that they mustn’t be relegated to burial in comments!
The original posting of these images was on Diane Pernet’s blog, A Shaded View on Fashion. According to Diane’s post, this corset was made by Gabriel, who is a student of Mr. Pearl’s; the waste is 23 inches.
New corset from Marcelo // Ferrer Corsets
Marcelo, from Ferrer Corsets sends some photos of a new corset. As Marcelo describes:
Look, here it goes the new pictures of me in my new corset.
This piece was made by me too, in white german coutil, designed to extreme tight-lacing. The corset take off about 35cm in the waist, Not closed at all in the pics, I think its gonna take time and tight-lacing with this new one until I close the corset.
In addition to the male corsetry from Marcelo, there are some gorgeous photos of women laced into his creations. Check out, for example, this pic and this pic of a beautiful woman corsetted.
