I’ve been struck by the frequent linkage that I find between corsets and chastity in videos, photos, and writing (both fiction and, presumably, non-fiction). In general, it seems like it is a more frequent pairing for men than for women, but that may simply be due to the prevalence of corsetry for women and the wider range of situations in which corsetry is seen for women than for men. Regardless, I wonder why the two — corsets and chastity devices — are so frequently paired?

One reason that makes sense to me is that both, implicitly or explicitly, bounce around the issue of control. Corsetry controls the torso and controls the body. A tightly-laced corset imposes a rigid structure on the shape that the body takes and, in the process, controls the body’s movements. Chastity devices control the genitals and control sexuality. Chastity strikes me as a more sexual type of control, but perhaps that’s just because I’ve never been locked into a chastity device. I guess it could be pretty corporal and physically restrictive. Likewise, I guess corsetry could be psychologically controlling if someone is enforcing, guiding, or imposing corsetry.

For a period of time, there was a website — Laced & Locked — that focused specifically on the intersection of chastity and corsetry / tightlacing. But, it seems as though their products have trended more towards corsetry than chastity. Interestingly, their products now (as then) blend corsetry and control via locking devices that prevent someone from removing the corset.

They used to have a partnership, I think, with Wasp Creations; but, apparently the relationship between the two companies is no longer active. It could be an interesting way to enforce and make sure that someone makes it through Annalai’s full three day tightlacing program.

It’s very interesting that the majority of those who read this blog wear corsets for the physical sensations – the compression and warm hug that a tightly-laced corset spreads over one’s body.

I wonder what the driver is of this sense of pleasure that we derive from compression around our torsos. Is it purely a physical sensation? Or, is it driven psychologically, as well? Could it be the physical expression of a desire for control or restriction?

I have seen, in a few places, male corsetry linked to male chastity. For example, on this page, dieter describes his routine of chastity, which is linked to a tightlacing regimen. And, as can be plainly seen in the pictures that he has posted on the site, one of which I have posted below, dieter is a very accomplished tightlacer.

Awhile back, there was a commercial site dedicated to the intersection of corsetry and chastity – www.lacedandlocked.com. The site is no longer active, but you can still find remnants of the site throughout the web. Lacedandlocked had a partnership with Wasp Creations for locking corsets and corsets with integrated chastity harnesses. There is still a video on YouTube for the locking corset, showing how one would lace and lock the corset. In the past, there was also a video on YouTube showing a male laced tightly into a corset that had an attached chastity harness. Here is a picture of what this device looked like:

Regardless, I find the combination of corsetry and chastity quite interesting – it’s somehow revealing as to, perhaps, some deeper psychological motivation for corsetry that is manifest in physical sensations (at least for some).
