This summer has been a difficult one for many, many reasons. In reflecting lately on why I haven’t posted anything to this blog in such a long time, I came to the realization that I lost some of the joy in this blog and in corsetry for awhile. Looking back to the start of the summer, and especially to May, I think I was just sad about the loss of Amy Crowder – and, for reasons above and beyond corsetry. Her philosophy of life struck a chord with me and I wonder sometimes who else shares the same views on life, the universe, and beyond!

I think the impact was that I avoided this blog. There were many times that I wanted to post something, but I had this huge block against actually following through and doing so. Maybe it was my subconscious knowing that if I actually came to this site I would face directly and feel many of the things that I was trying to avoid. I don’t know.

Either way, I’ve felt re-energized lately and am excited to post regularly again. So many interesting and beautiful creations have surfaced over the past few months. I’m curious what others think about them and about where some of the regular readers are in their mindsets.

I have been off the grid for a bit — traveling here and there. Unfortunately, I haven’t been getting into anything terribly interesting in the past few weeks. The fall is starting to come here, which I love. Fall is probably my favorite season of the year. The brisk temperatures, the beautifully-colored trees, and I even really like the fashion.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates. I have a backlog of interesting material (thanks to all who have sent pictures, news finds, and information along) to post.

I have been running, off-and-on for a few years, a male corsetry blog on google’s blogger platform and on the blogspot domain. I figured it was finally time to move things over to a bit more sophisticated publishing platform and also take a bit more control of the domain.

A second goal in moving things to this platform is that others will contribute to the site; the WordPress platform is more contributor-friendly than blogger. While I certainly appreciate the difficulties and time that it takes to build a community, I’m hopeful that something will develop here. I think the additional tools that we can collectively use to accumulate, organize, and share content might facilitate interactions among the community of people who are interested in what is, in most societies, a marginal interest. So, welcome and if you are interested in contributing in any way, don’t hesitate to contact me.
