So, I have two corsets – one has a busk with a traditional front closure, as shown in the first picture above. My second corset has a zipper closure in the front, as shown in the second picture above.

Overall, I think the zipper closure is more practical. The zipper closure never catches on clothes like a traditional busk sometimes does. And, with a traditional busk, I sometimes have the problem of one fastener coming undone.

But, while I think the zipper closure looks smooth and clean, on certain occasions the traditional closure looks “classier.” For daily wear, though, my vote goes to the zipper.
