I love the style of the corsetry – it’s a great mix of Victorian and punk. Her use of straps – around hips, over shoulders, and more is pretty unique and creates a striking look. I don’t know how the straps would work for daily tightlacing, but they would be wonderful for an event corset. I also really like the integrated collars and breastbone work that appear in several of the custom designs. I just think it’s amazing to see custom work like this and love the fact that people create such art out of corsetry. Maybe someday I’ll have some more corrective apparel!

Dark Garden updated their website recently and seem to be focusing a bit more on the higher fashion types of corsets. For custom corsets, though, I’m sure that some serious boning lies underneath! While the price of a Dark Garden corset may be a bit higher than other outlets, l love that the price reflects the fact that Dark Garden employs folks from the San Francisco Bay area – a notoriously high cost of living area.

I’ve featured lots of Dark Garden corsets on this site in the past. And, I do have a ready-to-wear Dark Garden corset, which you may have seen on this site in the past. It’s comfortable (but not as comfortable as something custom made!).

And, in this photo gallery from the Edwardian Ball, you can see a ton of examples of men wearing corsets that were designed with both the male figure and male fashion in mind.

Here is the first, sent by someone who has been featured on this site in the past. He recently purchased a new, custom-made corset by an Eastern European designer. While I can’t see too much detail of the corset, from what I can see it looks pretty good. I like the zipper closure, which was a feature used heavily by Amy Crowder in her Wasp Creations designs. And, overall the shape looks pretty good. Thanks for sharing!
